When you brush your teeth, have you ever thought of the warning label on your toothpaste tube? Read it. Does it say, “IF INGESTED, CALL POISON CONTROL”?

It’s because of all the fluoride that it contains. You are putting poison in your month, once, twice or even 3 times a day. Fluoride does not prevent cavities. Clinical evidence shows that fluoride causes cavities, tooth loss, and spontaneous fractures.

Swallowing toothpaste with fluoride can lead to fluoride poisoning, gastrointestinal discomfort, white spots on teeth (dental fluorosis), arthritic joints (skeletal fluorosis), respiratory disease, cancer and even death. Young children are particularly at risk.

Many people are either fluoride-poisoned or fluoride-sensitive and simply do not know that they are. They feel sick and may be treated for symptoms with any number of drugs, without finding out that fluoride is the cause.

Cows produce milk to nourish their young. To force the cows to continue producing milk, factory farm operators impregnate them using artificial insemination every year.

After their calves are taken away from them, mother cows are hooked up, several times a day, to milking machines. These cows are genetically manipulated and often drugged to force them to produce about four and a half times as much milk as they naturally would to feed their calves.



Cows are often dosed with bovine growth hormone (BGH), which contributes to a painful inflammation of the udder known as “mastitis.” According to the industry’s own figures, between thirty and fifty percent of dairy cows suffer from mastitis, an extremely painful condition.

Cows naturally lives about twenty-five years, but cows used by the dairy industry are killed after only four or five years. By the time they are killed, nearly forty percent are lame because of the intensive confinement, the filth, and the strain of being almost constantly pregnant and giving milk. Dairy cows’ bodies are turned into soup, companion animal food, or low-grade hamburger meat.



Milk is an unhealthy fluid from often-diseased animals that contains a wide range of dangerous and disease-causing substances. Milk contains fifty-nine active hormones, allergens, fat, cholesterol, blood, pus, feces, bacteria and viruses.

Milk can have traces of anything the cow ate, which includes herbicides, pesticides, and dioxins. Milk is created to feed a baby calves, not humans. School lunch programs have also promoted the serving of milk to children, even though they are not weaning and are not calves.

Fishy Fish!


More than forty percent of all the fish consumed each year are now raised on land- or ocean-based aqua-farms. Land-based farms raise thousands of fish in ponds, pools, or concrete tanks. Ocean-based aqua-farms are situated close to shorelines, and fish in these farms are confined to cramped net or mesh cages.



Fish on aqua-farms spend their entire lives in crowded, filthy enclosures, and many suffer from parasitic infections, diseases, and debilitating injuries. Forty percent of the fish die before farmers can kill and package them for food. Fish who survive are starved before they are killed to reduce waste contamination of the water during transport.



Farmed fish are fed shocking “diets” of waste products. Chicken feces is one of the main ingredients that go into farm fish feed. The use of pig and duck waste in fish farms is also a very common practice. Farm-raised fish create more and more allergies and adverse reaction in people, like skin rash and eczema.



Fish fraud is rampant. A filet labeled “Red Snapper” could really be cheap Tilapia. A pricey “Wild-Caught Salmon Steak from Alaska” could be farmed-raised salmon from China or Chile.



Those are just a couple of examples found during a two-year investigation. One-third of the fish purchased in restaurants, supermarkets and sushi counters are mislabeled in a sample of 674 establishments in twenty-one states.



“Everywhere we looked for seafood fraud, we found it. It’s consistent around the country,” Oceana, an environmental non-profit group, found.

Meat or Reality: Are Humans Designed to Be Carnivores?


There is a long lasting controversy about what humans are designed to eat. Gorillas, the largest living primates, stick to a mainly vegetarian diet, feeding on stems, bamboo shoots and fruits. They do not have a problem developing muscle mass on a vegetarian diet.


A carnivore, or meat-eater, derives its energy and nutrient requirements from a diet consisting exclusively, or mainly, of animal tissue.


Characteristics commonly associated with carnivores include organs for capturing and disarticulating prey, sharp teeth and claws serve these functions in many vertebrates.


 


Carnivores have comparatively short digestive systems, as they are not required to break down tough cellulose found in plants.


The human body is not designed to be carnivore and can only tolerate a little meat from time to time.

Food Labeling Designed to Fool You

Sellers use terms that have no legal meaning but convey values and benefits that market research shows consumers want. Here are some common examples:

“Natural” has no legal definition and is essentially meaningless. It is meant to attract consumers who are searching for organic products.

The term “artisan” is designed to evoke images of a skilled food craftsman preparing small batches of a self-created “secret” recipe. In reality, these products may have been mass-produced, frozen, and then reheated in a microwave or convection oven.

The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has not drafted a legal definition of “stoneground,” so many food companies use this term when they use grains that only go through a stone mill once and then go through the conventional milling process.

Beware of the claim “made with real…” because the product may also be loaded with numerous artificial flavors and harmful ingredients.

The aisles are full of offers to “buy one and get one free,” but that’s a clever misuse of the term ‘free’ because it requires the buyer to buy the first one.

What Are Your Odds of Being Food Poisoned? Higher Than You May Think

Food poisoning is a very serious problem and should not be taken lightly. Symptoms, such as stomach nausea, sweating, shaking, dizziness, inability to move, usually occur around 5-6 hours of ingestion of the contaminated food. After a food poisoning, people get de-hydrated and weak.



Each year roughly 1 in 6 Americans — or 48 million people— get sick from food poisoning, resulting in 128,000 hospitalizations.


Some poisonings, such as from anchovies are very severe, causing death in fifty percent of the cases, in as little as 15 minutes. Altogether, there are about 3,000 deaths per year from food poisoning, according to previous CDC estimates.

Flame Retardant Makes a Strange Bedfellow


When cigarette smoking was on the rise in the 1970s, people fell asleep smoking in bed, starting fires and dying. The tobacco industry was under pressure to make self-extinguishing cigarettes, but it didn’t want to re-design how it made cigarettes, so it won its lobby for requiring flame retardants in mattresses and couches.


The chemical industry created flame-retardants that could be added to foam pillows, mattresses, and chairs. The problem was that retardants are released in the form of dust as people sit or lie on the foam. These dusts accumulate on the floor and affect people who spend the most time on the floor: babies and young children and their parents.



The dusts are often endocrine disruptors and are linked to cancer, reproductive problems, neurological deficits, and developmental problems. When the foam catches fire, they lead to much more toxic fumes. Firefighters have come down with more rare cancers since flame retardants have been used in furniture.

In addition to flame retardants, another ‘invisible’ health risk is the type of material that is used in manufacturing beds and furniture. The popular mattresses, such as memory foam, are made of synthetic products that “off-gas” for their entire use.



Buy organic, down mattresses which do not off-gas chemicals and furniture that do not utilize treated wood or plastic. Organic materials are expensive but can last for over 10 years and allow you to avoid exposure to toxic effects where you sleep, which on average, is one-third of your life.
